Chris started his coaching career in 2001 with the Red Deer Ringette Association. He co-founded the Central Alberta AA Sting program, where he coached for 14 seasons. He then travelled north to coach 3 seasons with the Edmonton AA Ringette Club, and 3 seasons in the National Ringette League with the Edmonton WAM!, earning a silver medal in the 2022 NRL Championships. Chris then stepped away from the NRL to focus on Team Alberta for the 2023 Canada Winter Games, where he came home with a silver medal. Chris had previously been on the Team Alberta coaching staff at the Canada Winter Games in 2015, and he was recently named again as Head Coach of Team Alberta for the upcoming Canada Winter Games in 2027. Over the course of Chris’s ringette coaching career, he has been a part of 3 Alberta Provincial Championship teams, and 1 Canadian Ringette Championship team. He also has international coaching experience, having been part of the staff with Team USA at the World Ringette Championships in 2014.
In addition to his experience behind the bench, Chris is a certified Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator for Ringette Canada, and a former Director of Sport Development with the International Ringette Federation.

Assistant Coach: Leigh Sauer
Leigh joins the Rocky Mountain Rage as an Assistant Coach, after serving the past two years behind the bench of the University of Calgary Dinos ringette team, which won the National Championship (the University Challenge Cup) this past season.
Leigh began coaching ringette in 2005 in the Calgary Northwest Ringette Association before moving on to coach with the Calgary AA program. He coached a total of 9 seasons with Calgary AA before joining the Dinos in 2023. During his career, Leigh’s teams won a total of 6 Alberta Provincial Championships, 4 Western Canadian Championships, and 1 University National Championship.
Like Chris, Leigh is also a certified Learning Facilitator and Coach Evaluator for Ringette Canada, and he previously spent 4 years as part of Ringette Alberta’s Board of Directors.

Assistant Coach: Meghan Kelly
Meghan coached the Zone 2 U19AA team for the past two seasons, prior to joining the Rage. She helped guide the team to a Bronze medal two years ago, and won the National Championship this past season.
